"A Cozy Slice of Home, Even for a Outsider You know that warm, fuzzy feeling you get when you finally kick off your shoes after a long day? That’s exactly how “The Old Market Cafe” feels—like stepping into a cozy, little bubble of peace, far away from the big city chaos. Even though I’m not a local, this place wrapped me up like a big, comfy blanket. The staff? Absolutely lovely. It’s like they’ve been expecting you all along, with a smile that says, “Welcome back!” even if it’s your first time. They somehow manage to make you feel like a regular, even if your accent screams “tourist.” And the vibe? It’s like the cafe has captured that elusive sense of calm we all crave. You can practically feel the stress melting away as you sip your coffee, while the world outside keeps spinning at its usual hectic pace. So, if you’re ever in Clacton-on-Sea and need a break from the madness, pop into “The Old Market Cafe.” It’s the kind of place that makes you wonder why you’d ever want to leave. Just don’t blame me if you end up lingering longer than you planned—this little gem has a way of making you forget the outside world exists. (P.S. I the floral walls!! )"

"This place is an absolute find and about as far away from a greasy spoon, whilst still getting cafe style food as you can get. The quaint decor is like stepping back in time and the solid wood furniture adds an extra layer of aesthetics to the dining experience. I had the breakfast with extra bubble and black pudding. There wasn't a speck of grease anywhere to be seen, all ingredients were of exceptional quality, especially given it is far too cheap for what you get. I was completely full half way in but it was simply too good not to eat it all. Seldom am I surprised by a cafe, but this one is a real gem. The staff are lovely too."

"Went to the cage other day as good reviews. Wasn't all that impressed in all honesty, i ordered the home made chicken pie and chips, thought it was expensive for what I received. It was ok but the pie didn't have much taste sadly. Also had a latte and that was nice. Service was good and the lady that served us was polite."
